Do you enjoy a cookie that is just the right amount of crispy and soft, all at the same time.
Well this cookie is.
Crisp on the edges and soft centered , these cookies are adorable .
Horlicks is like nostalgia packed into a jar for me. All of my school, I preferred it over other chocolate drinks.
So here we have a piece of nostalgia in a cookie 🙂
These are eggless cookies but the texture is superb. Perfect crumb. All thanks to our good old condensed milk.
So dunk them in a glass of cold milk and enjoy !!
You need:
50 gm Butter, softened
200 gm Dark Chocolate, good quality, I used 52%
400 gm Condensed Milk
25 gm Almond meal
2 heaped tbsp Horlicks , malt based drink ( ovaltine works too )
200 gm Self Raising flour
100 gm Maltesers , crushed
50 gm White chocolate chips, good quality.
How to:
Preheat the oven at 180 degree celcius.
In a microwave or a double boiler, melt the butter and the chocolate. Mix it well together.
Once off heat, mix in the condensed milk, almonds and Horlicks.
Sift in the flour and mix it well.
Now scrape the dough onto a cling wrap and put it into the refrigerator to chill for about ½ hour. This will make the dough more pliable.
Once cool , add in the crushed Maltesers and white chocolate chips . Mix it a little.
Divide the mixture into small balls of dough. Flatten them a bit like a patty.
Place them on a baking sheet. 9/12 at a time, depending on how big a cookie you want.
Bake for 20-22 minutes. They will be quite soft when out of the oven. Let them cool on a wire rack for some time .
Store at room temperature in an airtight jar. ( BTW they stay really well )
